CARRIE LEE BEDDOW

Carrie Lee Beddow, 101, of Stanardsville, passed away Jan. 18, 2004, at Evergreen Nursing Care Center in Stanardsville.  She was born July 5, 1902, in Greene County, a daughter of the late George and Cornelia Lawson Breeden. She is also preceded in death by her son, Pervis A. Beddow, and a grandson, Claude Willie Bailey.  She is survived by three daughters, Maxine B. Moore of Winston Salem, N.C., Janice B. Bailey of Ruckersville and Angye B. Ragofsky of Lakeland, Fla.; a son, William B. Beddow of Charlottesville; a sister, Bernice Jones of Hampton; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.  A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at Ryan Funeral Chapel in Quinque. Pastor Charles Shank will officiate, with interment in the Lawson Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

died Saturday in local hospital.  Born in Albemarle County, he was the son of the late Jacob E. and Ella Florence Shifflett.  Surviving are two sons, James Carl Shifflett Jr. of Waynesboro, Roger Lee Shifflett of Charlottesville; three daughters, Margaret S. Shifflett of Earlysville, Shirley Ann Morris, Earlene Rita Simmons both of Charlottesville; four sisters, Minnie Gentry, Doris Herring both of Charlottesville, Mrs. Ray Shifflett of Earlysville, Helen Morris Ruckersville, a brother, Cecil V. James Carl Shifflett, Jr., 60, of

, Crozet, died Friday, September 3, 2004 at the ARC of the Piedmont Group Home, Crozet. He was born Dec. 28, 1943, a son of James Carl Shifflett and Elva Iverna Marshall Shifflett Robertson. He worked at Crozet IGA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Morris. Surviving are two sisters and their spouses, Margaret and Charles Shifflett of Earlysville and Rita and Buster Simmons of Waynesboro; a brother, Roger Lee Shifflett of Waynesboro; a brother-in-law, Charles Morris of Stuarts Draft; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Donna Gibson & her husband, Mike, of Earlysville. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at McDow Funeral Home by the Rev. Dennis Collier. Interment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at the funeral home.

Shirley Ann Morris, 48, died Thursday night, July 2, 1998, at Augusta Medical Center, Fishersville. She was born Oct. 17, 1949, in Albemarle County, a daughter of the late James and Iverna Marshall Shifflett. She was employed in production by Con-Agra. Surviving are her husband Charles S. Morris, of Stuarts Draft; her stepfather, Lawrence Robertson of grottoes; a daughter, Tammy Sue Morris; two sisters, Margaret Louise Shifflett of Earlysville and Earlene Rita Simmons of Waynesboro; two brothers, Roger Lee and James Junior Shifflett of Waynesboro; and six nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday July 6, at Augusta Memorial Park by the Rev. Jonathan Lovelady. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McDow Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her sister Earlene Simmons,
